Course content

Physics of Ultrasound and Image Optimisation, Anatomy and Basic Views, Left Ventricular Function, Right Ventricular Function, Left atrial function, Diastolic function, basic echocardiographic assessment of valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies,  pericardial pathologies and  various other cardiac pathologies.

The course will be covered over 12 + sessions from 8.00-9.30 pm on alternate Thursdays of the month.

 After completing this course, you will be able to

  • Expertise in identifying normal and abnormal echo findings and integrating them with patient history and physical examination.
  • Understand image optimization principles and basic physics of ultrasound in echocardiography.
  • Evaluate echocardiography's artefacts and pitfalls.
  • Recognize the role of basic echocardiography (Echo) in diagnosing and monitoring therapeutic effects in critical care.
  • Assess hemodynamic parameters and explore various echocardiographic imaging windows.
  • Discuss the myocardial mechanism of left and right ventricular function and contractility.
  • Understand the importance of echocardiography in clinical decision-making and the diagnosis of various cardiovascular conditions.

  • Has a unique blend of more than 25 years of experience in the field of Clinical cardiology and cardiac Imaging with rich experience in interventional cardiology as well. He is an alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College and University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Post MD Internal medicine, he accrued nearly 2 years of experience in the field of Neurology to his credit as well. After his initial cardiology training in Cardiology at Escorts Heart Institute and Research centre New Delhi, he then proceeded as a core inception group to Medanta, The Medicity and worked there for 10 years, the last role being Associate Director Cardiology before moving to Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute (PSRI), Saket, New Delhi  as Director & Head of Clinical Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging in 2019. Later, took the role of his present designation in May 2021.
